Diet Fads - The Zone Diet

This diet was made highly popular due to the advertised number of celebrities which followed it. From a marketing standpoint, always a winner. It is based on following strict percentages of food group intake at every meal - 30% fats and protein, 40% carbohydrates.

Good Points

This diet slightly appeals to me over the others so far because a) it allows for fruit and vegetables and b) allows low fat foods such as chicken and fish. this diet plan will help you lose weight BUT…

Bad Points

Following any diet plan must take into consideration the elements of health and safety. For me, this diet fails to consider the importance of minerals and vitamins which are needed to ensure a good balanced diet. Evidence shows that this diet plan will lead to energy depletion - not safe, not healthy

Worse Points

Hopefully, you will realize by now (especially if you have visited the main website) that I strongly believe that healthy and permanent weight loss can only be achieved through the combination of a healthy, balanced diet and exercise. If you also subscribe to this argument and are fairly active, this diet paln is NOT recommended.
